Every Combat Jack interview you mean? Or just radio in NYC in general? I like him as an artist but its too much.

im always slightly disappointed when new yorkers (or basically juan ep and combat jack) interview southern legends because its clear as shyt they dont really know nikkas catalog/backstory like that. So the conversation centers around the hit records and the time that artist worked with JayZ pretty much. They're always lil gems if the artist is willing to go there but its hard for guys who dont really fukk with these artists like that to ask the right shyt.

I wish I had time to do podcasts because I know why more about these artists than these guys that interview them do. Interviewing is not easy at all but they don't even do any research. I guess if it's a more free flowing interview it's cool but to me it's kinda disrespectful.

yeah...

trust me, theres a collosal difference in the way they interview new york nikkas and southern nikkas. its just is. Even mcs that aint really done much in comparison to Juve get a more in depth look. No cyse. And it ALWAYS comes back to Jayz or trying to dig for a new york influence if its a nikka they respect lyrically. like homie in this thread said earlier, its borderline disrespectful. Not necessarily this joint. This was decent. Just in general.

respect to this post. ive noticed too breh. it seems like theres not even an attemp to even research southern acts.

i was let down by the boosie interview. it was crazy to see them nikkas ask uncle murda better questions then juvenile.

Combat Jack is pushing 50. For a NY dude that age, he is not going to be familiar with early Southern Hip-Hop. Coming up, These dudes didn't fukk with the West or South like that.

yea, like Some burnt out 80s NYC cat will get a 2-3hr interview, but Southern Legends get 1hr. Like I remember he had a big boi interview back in the day that was wack, but It was in their early days so that could be why. Like A Mannie Fresh or Master P combat jack episode would need to be no less than 2 hours.

Premium Pete tries his best to ruin these podcasts

Lol nah He's usually the one with a bit more experience when it comes to acts outside of NY. He's friends with Bun B and Face as well I think, he does bring up the jail stint a lot but Combat can't relate on that level because he was a lawyer so Pete connects on that level as well. I don't think he should bring it up as much as he does tho lol
