:wow: genre changing song, this was the first non east coast song I remember getting 24/7 play on hot97 when it came out., most won't understand how big that was.It paved the way for Southern take over of the early 2000s

the video too I was like :picard: that's how they getting it and living it down there

 I'll piss y'all off some more

juve >> Wayne when it comes to overall legacy influence within CMR
Wayne saved the label from irrelevance. Stop it.

Wayne >>>> Juvenile

That was a really dope album. DRoc’s beats were nice and Juve and Birdman had vintage Cash Money chemistry. Sign me up for more of that instead of whatever Lil Wayne and the remnants of Young Money are doing
Wayne and Drake are spitting 100 times better than current Juvenile who is stuck in 1999.

Stop it slime.

The Cash Money run from 97 to 2002 was so godly.

Juve was like the Muddy Waters of rap, nikka useta get me with them hums and lawds....like an old soul, wise before his time type cat Didnt use thesaurus words, but dude was elite level as far as cadences and his pacing

BG is crazy underrated, the Grim Reaper. Dude sounded like he never smiled a day in his life

Turk had moments, he wasnt a weed carrier. Honestly he had the best verse on "Boys at War"

Wayne was spitting heat on Guerilla Warfare but dude regressed slowly as he got older which is crazy

Mannie is in my top 5 as far as producers, always came unique and with dope ass live instrumentation

Even big timers were fun even tho they was more like game spittas not rappers

My cousin always tried to put me on to No Limit and some of they shyt was cool(Mac, Fiend, Mystikal) but it is and always will be CMRrah for me
Wayne got better and became top 5 of all time.

Whatchu mean?

:hubie: Wayne saved what Juve created and built, when people think cash money records as a whole they think Juve, Wayne, Manny fresh, BG, Baby and Turk. When people think of Wayne it's only Wayne

:dahell:

They think of Wayne being the baby of CM and becoming bigger than all those nikkas combined.

Juvenile is 10 years older than Wayne....so of course he'd be more advanced at the time Cash Money popped. He had a great run but Wayne pasted him years ago.

They think of Wayne saving Cash Money and signing Drake and Nicki.

I be forgetting its all 40 and 50 tear Olds in the Booth.

Let me exit this thread.

revisionist history

in reality, birdman saved lil wayne & carried him for years.

if he wasnt baby's son, wayne wouldve fell into same bubble of 2000s obscurity as say a lil zane.

when wayne finally popped off with gillie's notebook, juvenile had the bigger album & bigger hits at the time(even tho i think juvi just came back cuz he owed them another album) and baby had become the iconic birdman at this point, and the big tymers were still poppin.

wayne didnt save chit. he didnt revitalize anything.

an example of saving it would be if wayne stepped up when the hot boys left. but he didnt do that. wayne kept releasing flops that wouldve got him shelved on any other label. the big tymers were the ones who stepped up and saved the label from going under. lil wayne was their water-boy along for the ride for like 3 years until gillie dressed him up.

stop revising history.

I can't even name a Zane song lmaooooo.
.Wayne was never heading to Zane status. Wayne was having hits and cultural relevance back then.... stop it.

Juvey was like 10 years older than Wayne. Yet Wayne lapped him 100 times over.

Cash Money was saved by Wayne. It was a sinking ship until Wayne went on a run. Wayne wasn't even 20 yet. C1 dropped when he was 20/21. He saved Cash Money.

Wayne is bigger and better than Juvenile ever was. Yall just mad AF :mjlol:

BG about the same age as wayne, and people will debate that BG was better than juvenile all the way back then. so stop with these excuses. BG was making classic albums at 15. wayne was 17 when he started droppin albums and they were duds. chit, turk was hotter than wayne.

i just proved you wrong about wayne supposedly saving cash money, with an actual timeline. when wayne's run started, his album wasnt even the biggest LP on the label at the time, so what was he saving exactly??

lil zane didnt have a CEO daddy, goat-level in-house producer, a legendary group to be apart of, ghostwriters at his disposal, etc.

wayne got bigger in a different watered-down era via kids who didnt know any better. you can argue that drake is "bigger" than 2pac ever was. but where is that really going to get you??

i dont know how im mad. i dont even know how wayne got brought into the conversation.

BTW, please change your avatar.

lil zane didnt have a CEO for a daddy, and a legendary group to latch on to.

Didn't read all that.

Carter 3 the biggest Cash Money album ever. It's still on the Billboard 200 :ahh:

I didn't bring up Wayne. All yall old ass nikkaz did and I simply responded.

Wayne is a better rapper, more hits, more influence, better albums better bars and better everything.

Let's strip it down to what hip hop really is about. fukk sales and all that..

Wayne wins in single every category.
