Yeah they did. They gave up on him pretty quick and I think that only made things worse for him.
It's one of the few times a rapper goes to jail and the label doesn't try to exploit it as some kind of 'realness' angle.

When priority merged with capitol for some readon they stopped fukkin with him and they basically refused to put any of his music out or release him. He had 2 albums out in 10 years even though he'd made a number of albums in that time like Van Gogh and Goldyn Child. They cut his budgets and wouldnt allow him to release more than one single or make videos. Also they fukked up the Golden State Warriors album that Colombia records wanted to put out that would of been a major release with dre getting involved too smh. He ended up getting pissed off and stole his masters went on the run releasing mixtapes. He eventually managed to get released back in 2007 tho after trying to sue them for years.
That's fukked up, I remember there was that Free The Ras Kass shyt. Shame how shyt like that can happen, if Dre had invested in some of the dope artists he worked with or had under the roster at 1 point the whole face and state of the game could be completely different. He had Last Emperor, Rakim, Eve, Busta, had mad talent, such a shame sometimes people can't get on the same page for whatever reason as it fukks up a lot of potential.

yeah an Aftermath roster with Ras, Rakim, Last Emperor, Busta, 50, Em, Banks, Joel Ortiz, possibly Crooked I all on each others albums with occasional guest spots from Snoop and Nate Dogg would of been some amazing shyt to see
