I have already stated that I welcome all opinions in this thread as well as everywhere else. I am asking cats who are making note of the (lack of) drums so that I can learn. I am not attacking anyone here.

As per your question about "Who's crying?", look through this thread and any others discussing his music. You see the repeat comments from the same people. Those are the ones who are crying. I made a post directly addressing this criticism and cats have no insight to offer. It's just "Where are the drums?, I need some drums., I wish he'd throw some drums on his songs" ad nauseum. It's a bit much after so many albums. You (they) know what they are getting into. The point is becoming moot as far as discussion is concerned.

This is not directed at anyone in particular. Ka's music may not have drums. You have been fairly warned. If you want some music from Ka with drums, please listen (cop) Iron Works. Drums galore.

i haven't made a most either way about the drums, but this sounds a lot like crying about crying

Big fan of Ka's music. I listen to MF DOOM so that lazy flow isn't new to me. It may turn off some. As for the lack of drums, if you listen to his lyrics he's very visual. Hell he directs his videos. The production plays more like a movie score than just beats to rap over. That's why I gravitate to his music. You can zone out and catch the imagery. It's meant to be gritty and raw.

Unlike a lot of street rappers he comes off very intelligent in how he depicts that environment. He's not pretending to be a super goon or talking reckless. He just tells his story.

Roc and ka are a great team. Roc is more fly/flashy, ka got that everyman style. I want a ka/alchemist album.:ohlawd:

grief pedigree is a classic but I only played this once so far. Gotta give it more spins. He had some:wow: bars from what I heard.

That's crazy... But it's not really that much of a surprise. The underground/independent rap scene out in NY is so far behind places like California, Texas, etc.. it's no wonder this guy can only get his album in 4 stores.

Damnnn this album is dope.

Ka when on good production is a deadly force.

I like Roc's style a little more but I like what Ka stands for a lot more.

its just crazy as shyt to me that roc is like 10X more popular that KA.... AT LEAST

yet at the same time, they are partners, and they both prolly know they are as nice as each other

but ka is in a slightly different lane and has his own appeal that roc will never have, but because of the climate of rap these days, ka will never get the props he deserves

Roc has put in more work and rapping is his career, Ka most likely has a day job and does his rapping as a side thing. Ka hasn't done anything at all besides the 3 albums, plus he's like 30 something years old.

This was in constant rotation last year :dj2:

yeah, but roc was aligned with busta for mad long. so he most likely has connections Ka doesnt. roc dont even live in NY, he live in LA, so he been making moves. the nikka Ka was in natural elements, a group most people arent even familiar with. its not hard to see how people dont know who dude is AND he's not making, nor has made typical clubby shyt. techn9 a damn 'millonaire' and most people arent familair with dudes music
