yeah I know man. these are some reasons though.

1. hurney the first gm with cam was terrible. he handed out big contracts that the panthers are stuck with(dead money too) to this day. Williams,stewart, Johnson,beason......all got mega crazy contracts. part of the reason was to help cam when he was a rookie but cam is more of a passer so he should have tried to get wr.

2. hurney did not know how to draft. dude would pick a good 1st round player and the rest of the draft would be terrible. like the cam draft in 11.....dude got cam but every other pick is cut or completely out of the league.

3.gross retired at the last min and smith was supposed to retire after 14 anyways. smith still was on the decline even though cam help revitalize his career a bit.

4.gettleman let the wr go in fa because he thought they were not worth a high price. he thinks guys like cotchery and underwood can replace or even be better than lafell and ginn. also he drafted Benjamin and have guys like king and mcnutt on the roster who he thinks can contribute. I thought he should have got cam at least one more wr considering this was one the deepest draft for wr in a long time.

5.gettleman did not think the LT were up to par after the big four were gone early in the draft. that remains to be seen as true or not. right now cam oline looks terrible with bell and chandler competing for lt and rt spots.

Remember, Kap is in an offense that was 31st in the league in pass attempts yet Kap was top 10 in effeciency.

Also, I agree with @yseJ I think football is won, with teams and not just one player.

Our organization has been very conservative for a long time.

Kap is a risky investment but one that works in our favor for these reasons.

We have one of the best coaching staffs in NFL.

We got undrafted players playing at a starting/contributing level thanks to guys like Jim Tomsula, Vic Fangio and Tom Rathman and Brad Seely, and Mike Solari (O-Line Coach)

Trent Baalke has done very well in drafting, think about it, nikkas we cut are starters, or contributors on other NFL teams.

We have managed the salary cap pretty wisely thus far.

Based on our free agent drafting, we can live without, Crabtree, Iupati and Aldon Smith. I think that Iupati is gone though, and if he goes we can figure out Crabs and Aldon Smith.

Also, I agree with @yseJ I think football is won, with teams and not just one player.

No one is denying that but when you look at a team like the Rams, they're stacked on defense and have an above average offense but the main reason they won't get over the hump will be because of their QB Bradford.

To be fair Sam Bradford has had to learn a few different offenses since he has been drafted. Plus before he got hurt he was having a career year, plus they haven't had a running back that could come close to Stephen Jackson when he departed, they will be a tougher team this year assuming dude stays healthy.

He still had a losing record as a starter and the only 2 games where he really balled out where against 2 of the worst NFL teams. In the Falcons game, he didn't starting doing anything until the 2nd half when his team was down by 21. The defense has gotten better but Bradford will get destroyed by the defenses in the NFC West.

Cam ain't better than Kaep, Luck, or RW. I'll give Cam the nod over RG3, Tannehill and Dalton
