Why are nikkas on here surprised that Kai didn't know who Wale was? I think you're over estimating Wale's popularity. A lot of people probably have heard 1-2 songs by him but that don't mean they would recognize the nikka if he passed them.

I can’t imagine being 12 and 13 years old and not knowing any of the hip hop artists that was out at the time. That’s wild af and we on a hip hop site and nikkas making excuses for this shyt. Yall nikkas exposing yallselves right now. If u wasn’t listening to hip hop in ur early teens it makes a lot of sense. Biggie literally died when I was 12 or 13 years old. We had cats like NORE, Lox, DMX, Cam’ron etc etc drop their first albums in my early teens.
It depends how much they're into rap. My lil cousins love drill but they don't really fukk with rap like we used to. It's a different era.. internet let's kids pick and choose what they're into

Lol that’s no excuse. Those were massive records being played everywhere. If he was actually listening to rap at that time, he would’ve remembered them and Wale. But he grew up in a Caribbean household so they probably weren’t listening to rap like that.
Yeah Wale’s big songs came out when Kai was 10 and 11. If someone who was 10/11 when “Hey Ma” came out didn’t know Cam’ron, they weren’t listening to rap at the time.

Wale was heckling Rudy Gay ( then a Raptor) from the sideline and the local broadcasters were cracking jokes about him being a local rapper they never heard of. Called him Walleye and Wally
Someone mentioned it to him on Twitter and he confronted them while the game was still going on
