Kairi Sane got her head busted open by Nia Jax at Raw taping

Nia Jax's rivalry with Asuka continued on this week's episode of Monday Night Raw as The Facebreaker was crowned the number one contender for the Raw Women's Championship after defeating Charlotte Flair and Natalya in a Triple Threat match. The Empress Of Tomorrow and Jax will now face off at the Backlash pay-per-view.

Next week's edition of Raw was taped last night and Sean Ross Sapp at Fightful revealed there was an ugly incident during Jax's match with Kairi Sane as The Pirate Princess suffered a deep cut to the head. The injury occurred at ringside after Kairi was thrown into the steel steps by Nia and her head hit the corner of the stairs. The match was immediately paused so Sane could receive medical attention and she was bandaged up by WWE doctors. Sapp also noted that Kairi said she was fine and insisted on finishing the match.
