Does anyone know anything about the circumstances of the original arrest? Sounds odd that someone serves 3 years waiting for a trial. Was there some kind of felony upgrade?

The sad thing is that he should have had psychiatric help since a teen and locking him up put this young man on a collision course with his own death.Since the system is made up of so many cogs, responsibility is easily reasoned away.Someone is directy responsible but can hide behind a system that has zero regards for human suffering and life...

Just look how these young savage nikkas and guards treated him.

this has to be some kind of social experiment..everything about this is clearly set up, this is proof and comforting to whoever is responsible. they still got 800 more years until nikkas actually do wake up.

They put him in there with dangerous people yet he wasn't a dangerous person.

The wolves could smell his fear and i'm sure that abuse led to his death.

RIP Kalief Browder. This one feels personal. Unlike so many other outrages, there's no slight mistake he made that could've at least let you sleep at night. There's no way to rationalize this and think you could've avoided it by doing something differently--nobody could've avoided this by changing their behavior, the situation would've been went the same way for anyone. He did absolutely nothing wrong even in the most unforgiving perspective. I'm in a dark place and this one really got to me.

16 years of age walking home from school and some fukkin mexican says he stole his backpack. Mind you, the 2 never met each other.
The cops arrest him with 0 evidence tells him he'll be out the next day and ends up spending 3 years.
