Is she saying the Child Tax Credit will only be for the first year of a child’s life? That’s a pretty dramatic scale back from the original.
She plans on expanding it.
If you're trying to curtail immigration, you need to give parents the means to raise their children. Someone has to do those jobs the immigrants were doing.
Making it easier for people to sue employers and unionize can raise wages. The employer doesn't have undocumented or temporary workers to use as leverage against you.
Making drug costs cheaper can make it easier to afford medicine for your child if it has special needs, and having someone negotiate the price for you can help if you're getting older and need medication yourself.
Making it easier to buy a house means your debts can be tied up in the equity of the home and couple that in with your increased wage and you'll be doing much better than if those options weren't available to you.
Expand the tax credits, make housing cheaper, tax grocery stores more if they're reporting record profits while raising the costs of essentials, and shrink expenditure on foreign aid. If you can do that and cut taxes on people making less than 80k a year, that's a big boost that isn't being offered by Republicans.
The key thing is your state though. If your state representatives aren't accessing the federal funding earmarked to help you because they don't want to look as if they're actually working with "the other side" then you won't benefit. What Walz's team did for his state can happen in all 50 if you vote for politicians who are blue or at least have a history of agreeing to compromise with democrats to bring some money and jobs to your state.
She didnt say that arms exporting is off the table for Israel and she emphasized that "a deal needs to be made"
Nobody is sure of what that will actually mean until she's in office. It could be the same song and dance as Biden, or it could be
"We are halting all weapons packages to Israel until an agreement is reached. Israel cannot continue its campaign without our support, and in the interest of peace and stability a deal can only be reached if we are not actively giving Israel the means to continue its campaign. We have supported Israel with top of the line ordinance, and hamas is a terrorist organization without the kinds of cutting edge weapons that only America can create. Israel can choose to seek peace with our support, or they can continue to wage war. They will not continue to wage war with weapons funded by our taxpayers while being unwilling to negotiate a peaceful solution and take steps towards a two state solution"
It's impossible to argue against a stance like that without coming of as a gigantic piece of shyt or an unhinged lunatic who refuses to believe what his eyes and ears are telling him.
