CA is the 5th largest economy in the world. So being governor of CA is like being President. It's a damn good consolation prize.
that's the problem though, they're treating her like a Make A Wish kid. she's a wealthy, ex-vice president. she doesn't have to be "owed" this :hhh: i'd be insulted if i was a Dem primary voter in california

it's the same exact sentiment as when hillary was handed the 2016 primary, because Obama usurped her in 2008. and we saw how that turned out :mjlol:

She is a terrible politician that no one likes. Saying Trump did something shady is sticking your head into the sand.

Nobody likes her yet she got 70 million votes and won every election she had in California before facing Trump. Just say you’re MAGA :childplease: Donald Trump was on TV yesterday talking about jailing Zohran Mamdani and that he might start sending citizens out of the country and you think it’s “sticking our head in the sand” to think he could’ve ever done something shady. FOH MAGA :camby:

IMO there are major differences between them (Hillary is whip smart and understands basic level policy whereas I'm not convinced Kamala does) but they share a fatal flaw: the complete inability to talk extraneously. Which is why they come off as rehearsed or out of touch. Put them in a situation where you're just shooting the shyt and they sound like they're checking off boxes in their mind on what they can and can't say. Compared to Trump, Biden, Obama, W, Bill Clinton, etc who can talk to anybody and be comfortable. And before someone says "it's because they're women and our society is sexist" ehhhh. Women win major elections and become heads of state across the globe in places with far more inherent patriarchy than the United States. And those women are also better at shooting the shyt and seeming normal than Hillary or Kamala. The president of Mexico comes to mind. Or Merkel.
AOC does it really well too (whether you like or dislike her politics is a different thing).

The calls of sexism when critiquing any woman can sometimes be very real, but they can also be a shield preventing said woman from growing

Yelling sexism shuts down every convo. So people just smile and nod and pander and say "you go girl!" and then everyone's shocked when those people don't turn up at the ballot box. They never gave a fukk. They were just avoiding you publicly shaming them and you can't read the room. This is gonna be out of left field but: you see a lot of this in recent movies/entertainment where they inartfully drop in women/minorities; it bombs; and the creators are like "what happened!? :sadcam:"

See this is some real shyt lol. And in both political and film/tv cases there's a major problem where any criticism or discussion gets shut down by an army of marks who demand nothing but blind praise. And we keep getting end products that are not complete because their more ardent supporters refused to prepare them for the moment.

Anyone notice how they keep creating these black girl magic (or black boy/dude) characters who are super smart, good at everything, know everything, and only deal with some minor family drama but besides that have nothing to overcome. There is no development, no arc, nothing. Just a perfect girl or guy who can be marketed as such.

And with Kamala...nobody could say a word against Kamala in front of my mom without her LITERALLY starting to yell. Even tepid criticisms. The immediate argument she'd land on was "there are two candidates, you're either for Kamala or Trump." Eh...I was voting for Kamala regardless. Denying her flaws was stupid.

I wanted her to win, but I honestly think she should leave politics. Get on the board of some Fortune 500, join an Investment Bank as a Partner, make some money. She still has a name that people respect for taking the L Biden was to receive last November. I just don’t think she’s suited for politics, and I mean that as a compliment.
