A Single Mom and Kids isn't a family.

Maybe not by your standards, but according to the U.S. Census Bureau, a household consisting of a single mother & her children is also classified as a "family" household as well.

This isn't really true though. McDonalds and other fast food places raised their costs alongside raising salaries. You can drive by any fast food place right now and see them advertising paying workers over $15 in many places, offering bonuses for managers, etc. They simply passed the costs to consumers.

Consumption has largely been up to oddly high levels, it's not a matter of purchasing being down. People rushed out to get fast food or order Door Dash/Grubhub during the pandemic and that continued into 2022-2024.

This is a conservative talking point and not reality.
