Same. Finishing mine precisely because jobs I know I can do, well based on getting to final interviews multiple times, prefer degrees. Paying for mine out of pocket and unlike some hating ass "I went through this. So should you." ass cats, I hope everybody else has it easier.

think of all the black people who’ve been barred from gainful employment because of this unnecessary and suspiciously prohibitive requirement.

think of all the six cert brehs with the expertise but no degree that will benefit from this.

:wow:

What a terrible idea :dead:

I think degree requirements and certifications and any thing that verifies independently
seeking knowledge or training should be IN PLACE however access to that knowledge or training
should be LOW or NO COST and subsidized through through the tax payer.

Even then, I don't think this will be an issue for state/federal jobs like the VA or NASA or CDC where
being a Pharmacist or Physician or Engineer or Data Scientist with extensive training actually matters.

Probably not so much for the receptionist.

Either way, I'll never poo-poo education, it's a wonderful fukking thing.

The Set
Given the context of whatever industry, this makes sense. I know more over qualified w/out credential people than I do vice versa. Maybe that's just who I run with tho.

Most of these jobs will be IT, Finance, Administration, you gotta prove yourself in those fields, they're mostly salaried, So I don't see much if any bad that can come from this.

A lot of people have a college education/skills without a degree to match. This is an attempt to level the field since they took affirmative action, "DVI" whatever is called. I'm all for it, it will benefit all in various ways.

there are a lot of people buried under debt just so they could sit at a thankless desk job that shouldn’t require a 4 year degree.

it’s an archaic requirement whose time has long since passed. and, keeping it a buck, its inclusion among prerequisites was a means of limiting the paths of fruitful employment for black people.

:francis:

So basically this is DEI that white people can get behind:wow:

So none of you are even curious if this will be the replacement for Affirmative Action? How quickly we forget.

Shouldnt there be a study to see how this will effect black people? Maybe someone can run it through a simulator. But I guess yall are sure it wont have a negative effect. I guess time will tell:respect:
