I mean, you can't name a movie Avengers: Kang Dynasty and try to make it seem like big things weren't being built around him. The reports were that he'd be appearing in a bunch of different projects, the former show runner of XMen 97 said he was going to be voicing Kang on there. Marvel was definitely making him the focal point of the next phase.

They had him taken out by B level characters and some ants and then questioned if he was still a threat.

Nothing Feige said is contradictory.

Kang would have been the villain of Kang Dynasty.

At the end of that movie Doom replaces him as the villain going into Secret Wars.

Doom is the villain in both Secret Wars comics. He was always coming in.

Because Doom is the villain of both Secret Wars comics.:dahell:

Kang was just a vehicle for Incursions which brings Doom. Like how Ultron was a vehicle to start the Civil War storyline and bring an antagonist Tony Stark into the picture

The MCU ain’t the comics, breh. Don’t expect a 1-for-1 adaptation of the Hickman run either when that film comes around.

Yeah, but with Feige's latest comments it seems to be true.
Plus I don't think you can do Secret Wars without Doom. It wasn't some huge reach.
It seems to be true now. I’m glad Doom is coming but we don’t know how things would’ve unfolded had Majors not gotten into trouble.

If you make a prediction and it comes true you get credit regardless of circumstances.

One of the things I keep saying is that they were never going to do a big bad multi-arc threat like Thanos again. So, even with Kang Dynasty, I looked at that more like Ultron type flick than a Thanos-sequel one. They always had Secret Wars coming next, which be all reasonable logic is a reset. Who knows what they were gonna bet on then.

Then everything after Endgame has been a pivot, and even that started before Endgame. I think with the good response they got from him, it allowed them to ride the wave a bit longer, but i do think RDJ was always the Ace in the hole to return.

They went from BP/Captain Marvel/ Spidey being the next trio. They got out as many Spidey movies as they could in short time. They fast tracked Dr. Strange & Thor movies..and Shang Chi. They shelved 2 movies then released them later. They took what I believe was a F4 script, swapped Ant-Man into it, and then took the only significant villain introduced during this time and made him a joke and the screen. That was before his incident. So, it all adds up to him being. Placeholder for hard reset

I agree it’s not.

But you also have to look at when they decided to throw in/introduce The Fantastic Four which was right before Kang Dynasty.

When you have the FF you always have Doom. They were being fast tracked to be in the following Avengers movies.
