But how are we defining "blindly voting" though?

If I personally feel like virtually no Republicans meet my standard politically and I vet out different groups of Democrats to see which one deserves my vote the most, am I still a shill because the people I'm sorting through happen to have a D to their name?

Biden wasn't even a top 3 candidate for me in 2020 but I still wrote in for a Democrat who I felt resonated with me.

Saying that Black people are automatically sheep, shills, or mental slaves just for voting with someone with a D in their name is actually a dangerous way of thinking that gets propagated in Right Wing circles all the time to shame us into giving them more votes.

On one hand, I get what you're saying. Everyone should look into things policy wise and not just vote for someone just because he's/she's charismatic like a televangelist or says the right things without the dedication or substance to back it up. I'm totally on board with that and I tell people that irl too. Regardless of the party you support, everyone should be doing that.

But, at the same time, someone like Gary Chambers would get my vote easily not because he's a Democrat or because he's a Black man but because his agenda actually resonates with me. Ditto for a number of other politicians who happen to be Democrat or Independent.

The GOP producing so few candidates that resonate with Black people isn't automatically about being "on the Democratic plantation." It's more so that the GOP caters to angry White men so much that Black people as a whole flat out don't like the GOP. We didn't even necessarily need brainwashing for that to be the case. A lot of the GOP is full of unlikable, blatantly racist, greedy/selfish, fascist, and conniving people who generally harbor resentment towards Black Americans.

There are Black Democrat shills just like they're White Republican shills but people exaggerate how many Black voters are actually shills to begin with. The GOP will call a Black person who votes for anyone with a D a "shill" or "brainwashed" without even proving that that person wasn't making a conscious decision.

I just think we need to be careful with the "Democrat plantation" talk. Maybe if people would specify that we should vet our candidates better regardless of the party, it'll get the message across better. Everyone should be vetting and choosing the best prospect.

I don't get the Ice Cube slander. From what I recall, he put together a document "the Contract with Black America" identifying policies that he wanted to get politicians to endorse.

He didn't write it himself, he consulted with various experts. He met with the Republicans, and said the Democrats told him they would only meet with him after the last election. The Republicans used some of his ideas to promote their pathetic pitch to Black Americans prior to the last election. How does this make him a c00n?

He never endorsed Trump; he met with some lower levels of the Republican party and was willing to do the same with the Democrats who told him Kanye is a whole different story, but the Cube slander is way, way off.

Dudes are literally saying the same shyt that the Indian racist Dinesh D'Souza and numerous other Republicans say all the time to shame Black people into voting GOP. Dinesh literally called us "low IQ" and basically idiots for voting Democrat at a high rate on Twitter not even that long ago.

Other Republicans keep likening us to slaves(Democrat plantation), shills, brainwashed minions, sheep, etc. for not voting GOP in an attempt to shame us and some dudes on here don't even realize that that's where the propaganda originates from.

The reality of the issue is that many Black people consciously choose not to vote GOP for a multitude of reasons and, just because someone votes for a Democrat doesn't automatically make them a shill.

Democrats aren't perfect in the slightest. And they have plenty of flawed candidates. But where's the evidence that the GOP or the Libertarian Party are better alternatives for Black people?

The GOP in Mississippi, Louisiana, and Alabama have done a worse job resolving Black poverty, illiteracy, gun violence, obesity, etc. than many Liberal states like New York, California, Maryland, New Jersey, Massachusetts, and DC. Also, the low voter turnout among Black people in those states hasn't resulted in positive outcomes.

Dudes are just repeating shyt that they heard a Republican or a "pro-Black" contrarian say online without actually thinking about its implications.

Also, I said this on another thread but the idea that refusing to vote will make Democrats become more "pro-Black" or "pro-tangibles" as a whole is one of the most outlandish shyt said on here. Literally the only reason Democrats are even talking about reparations these days and trying to push for it in certain areas of the country is due to heavy political activism and involvement.

Realistically, if Black people stoppped voting altogether, The Democrats are simply going to turn into a Blue Dog Party that caters to moderates, suburban White women, and pot smoking Republicans with gay cousins and people like Tulsi, Sinema, Manchin, Yang, and John McWhorter who complain about there being too much wokeness or focus on racial issues will be the face of it.
