Song is nice
We can all agree that Kanye is a weird but multifaceted dude. He is obviously jaded and conflicted.
I think that interacting with whites and other races on a regular basis can make one more aware of being black in this world...the love/hate attitudes that we experience as black men is very unique and no other race experience it. I am firm believer that blacks who spent their life only socializing and growing up with black people have little understanding of how deep this is.
Even Malcolm X socialized with white people up into his 20s. He even dated white women at one point. Dad was killed by jealous white people. This in turn gave him a deeper understanding into the white man's psyche. Kanye may be expressing these experiences he has of being a successful black man that white people want to be around or know because of his fame, but also having the realization that if he wasn't famous they wouldn't mess with him and in some instances hate seeing a black man rise.
It can be very interesting to feel this way and still knowing that it is wrong to be racists to others as a black man. Hard to fight against discrimination through art/music, try and express a black view on life and then say I will only date black women because of x,y, and z from other races. If a white woman told she is for racial equality but says she would never date black men...would you believe her? ...food for thought.
So, I do think that someone can have a pro-black mindset...i.e. want to express a conscious black thought and wanting your people to progress in a racist society/world and still be open to being with a woman of another race....afterall, if you have a kid with her your baby is still considered black just like
