Kanye who has many classics is the head figure to the new idea that "the end product is all that matters when determining your standing in hip hop"
With this new look the public has been able to have in the world of ghostwriting due to controversy surrounding drake and meek, people are starting to have important discussions on the what and what not to dos in hip hop.
Ghostwriting has always existed I'm hip hop but what made Drake's case so different was his constant claims to one of the greatest MCs in hip hop
But my question is, who inspired this attitude if not for the same one who claimed that and more because at the end of the day those albums those songs were his "vision"
Even acts like Young thug, tho he may write his lyrics, the melodies, and notes hit are all the work of his producer/engineer (which is why the features on his albums for some reason can and do sing jus like thugga)
So this is something we needa discuss..are we fine with giving the "aces" of these teams the credit/recognition of greatness within hip hop because they lead their team to their vision (kanye, young thug, drake etc.)
Or......is it "u ain't do it solo so it's a nono"

"The public" / the hip hop "audience" is ok with people who don't write their raps because it is 95 percent whites, women, and people who can't name the five pillars of hip hop.

The downfall started when the guys who owned labels sold them to the corporate majors.

I said this back when Drake got exposed. Kanye was claiming he was a Top 5 rapper. Then he was appearing on songs with Rakim, Nas, and KRS. The Source had Kanye ranked in their Top 50 lyricists ever and I think they put him over GZA. Sure, Kanye's a producer, but he's claiming he's one of the greatest rappers. On top of that, unlike other rapper/producers, he rapped alongside one of the greatest rappers ever (Jay Z) as a part of a duo called Watch The Throne.

OP are you saying that Young Thug doesnt come up with the melodies/flow/cadences in his songs?
He's the artist so he may give the ok but the engineer is the one really creating the melodies and what not thru vocal tuning
Thugga's music is more collaborative than anything

Man, woman, and child
I have no idea what OP is trying to say :mjlol:
Either way ghostwriting in hip hop is terrible. I don't mind if it's a producer like Dre and Ye since their main responsibility is tying everything together. But for someone like Drake it's an insult. Anyone can take someone else's lyrics and sound great cuz theres no real skill in that
