Ghostwritten lyrics never helped Puff. He couldn't deliver or properly flow ghostwritten lyrics for nothing. I'd lump Kanye in that category too. It's the two things that have always held Kanye back. Dr. Dre has one of the best deliveries and even the way he flows lyrics that are ghostwritten, he completely owns it from a performance stand point.

I agree. Puff is cringeworthy as a rapper and im not a fan of Kanye as a rapper. Atleast Dre can rap and sounds believable

Agreed, cuz ghostwriting has always been around to varying degrees, but you can't be that adamant about your lyrical superiority when your writing pad has a Staples aisle worth of different inks pens contributing to the mufuka.

Kangay Zest definitely paved the way for Pissy Elliott, but neither would've went down as an all-time rapper or lyricist prior to being exposed anyways, so I just continued to enjoy the great music they made while also acknowledging that their artistry took a hit because they weren't as skilled @ as previously thought to be.

I'll always prefer Drizzy Vanilli music to Kenbytch Lamaze, but unlike b4 I can't put Kirby above K. Thot as a lyricist after all that's come out.

DPG did the same thing. If 5 emcees are in the studio, why the hell wouldn't you bounce ideas of the dudes in the studio? Some inspiration or if someone says 2 dope bars that fits perfectly, would you say "no it's unethical according to some people".

It's obvious that everyone can write their own shyt, some assistance is whatever to me. Specially if it's just some random dude and not even a renowned writer. Which is why rappers didn't criticize Drake, cause most of them have done the exact same thing to a certain degree.

thugger comes up with his own melodies. fact.
somwehwat

The engineer has to make decisions based on what thugga may tell him or based on what he think thugga may like
and then tune his vocals tohit the certain keys and notes to create the melodies

since its apparent Thugga barely sings the notes u hear in his music
its more fair to say Thugga's music is a collaborative effort from engineer(vocal tuner) and Thugga

Here yall go again claiming that Ye just bounces ideas off other people like Rhymefest hasn't won Grammys for stuff he has written for Ye.

Just accept it. Rhymefest, Consequence, Roscoe Dash, mad well known people have written and admitted to writing for Kanye. Yall don't check writing credits? Go look at the writing credits on a Ye album compared to say The Blueprint.

Personally, when an artist doesn't write their own stuff I consider them a pop star. Like Britney Spears. Someone writes her music, puts her in a booth and tells her how to sing it. Now I do think Ye has more input than say Drake in how the songs are structured. This guy Drake has reference tracks telling him not only what to say but how to say it.

I never had an issue with Dre or Diddy. They were upfront about not writing their own music so I knew what lane to put them in. They were never eligible to be considered good or great rappers because of that. Great producers yeah, but not rappers.

The issue with Drake and Ye is they actually boast about lyrically being doper than everyone else. Stop. Its not even your work my dudes.
