Basically, I was gassed....with as long as they were hyping this joint...talking about all the extravagant recording sessions in Europe and shyt...Mannie Fresh talking about how amazing it was..that sit down with all the GOOD artists in Complex were they were talking about Kanye and his process for making this album as some kind of obsessive genius painstakingly putting together a masterpiece who wouldn't accept anything but perfection...the secrecy behind the project, the fukking ivory sculpture on the album cover and shyt...i was just expecting some kind of great AOTY contending album...then it finally drops and it's the typical mediocre thrown together hodgepodge crew album that I've already heard damn near half of before it dropped...which wouldn't be surprising if I hadn't been gassed, cause I should prolly know better than to expect much from crew complilations...but I fell for all that "GOOD Music is luxury high-end hip hop" bullshyt...when realistically Self Made Vol.2 is better and it's a toss up between it and Khaled's album for 2nd best rap compilation of even just the last couple of months

This is what we call backlash folks....The fans and the media put this dude at a deficit before he even starts by pandering to his delusions of grandeur and not being honest about who and what he is...

Having said that...

I actually like the album.. Because I never buy into the hype that the machine pushes about these artists.. I listen to it with an open mind...It's not deep, has little content or soul and ain't necessarily "real hip hop"..But sonically it sounds really good to me (in the same way that Ross does), I don't get the hate that the production and beats are gettin on here...I can do without Kanye rapping but besides that I think it's an enjoyable group project...The highlights outweigh the lows to me...

When I heard everyone on here saying that it was trash I was actually expecting much worse...I thought it was gonna be Lasers...It's a cool lil album imo...

After 3 straight listens, I can say the album is highly enjoyable and has replay value :obama:

the highs are high and the lows are low. That's all I have to say about it. I wish they'd have released it earlier so the singles aren't so played
