Wait was he talking about Paul Rosenberg (Eminem's lawyer/manager) or Peter Rosenberg (Hot 97)?

Props to Kanye. He didn't outright say it but you could tell he was basically saying this is a room full of legends and most of them are broke. Meanwhile the executives are living it up. Obviously some blame has to be placed on rappers who made bad financial decisions+sampling laws but still. Our legends are broke and when they die no one outside the culture gives a fukk. Kanye is right, Phife will get a 5 second mention at the Grammys and that will be the end of it...

Good point.
I assumed it was Paul Rosenberg, but you are right it could of been Peter Rosenberg.

There are so many Silvers and Golds and Bergs and Steins counting money they stole from black artists... it becomes hard to keep track of them all when you pull that curtain back within the music industry.
:yeshrug:

EDIT: It was Paul Rosenberg (as opposed to Peter) cause Kanye uses his full name later in the dedication to Phife, towards the end.

I get what Kanye was talking about...
...but thats just a lesson on the fact that it pays to be an executive...

Truth is...most artist are replaceable :yeshrug:

Everyone wants to say how much of a pioneer Phife is now...but how many of those people bought his solo work?
How many people held him down when he was sick?
How come when I met his mother about 11 years ago she had no good words for Q Tip?

Entertainment is a phony ass game.

00000000000000000000000000002506I mean, I can understand the sentiment.
It might be lost on some brehs in The Booth though because this is the same
part of the website where a Guns N'Roses thread can get to a dozen pages
but a Krs-One thread will flop. Where people can speak on the brilliance of "Radiohead"
but when it's time to discuss the brilliance of J. Dilla or a Robert Glasper they're at a loss
as to how to contribute.

If I'm at the funeral of a Hip-Hop legend the last thing I want to hear about is
Zeppelin, Van Halen, The Beatles etc. I wanna hear about diggin through
dusty records, about legends kickin freestyles with each other, what it was
like when they found that magic sample etc. not some mention of old fogies
whose entire career and genre benefits from the existence of African Americans.

With that said there is a strong irony in Kanye West talking about music being "Corporatized"
and "Monetized" as if he doesn't have several tracks to his name speaking on wealth
and ostentatious displays of it.

Juggalo island
Paul Rosenberg (a white jew in the music industry) was asked to speak and compared Tribe's impact to rock n roll group Led Zeplin.

Kanye (who wasnt asked to speak) got up and repped hip hop, saying basically fukk led zeplin this is a hip hop death. He called out the way whites stole from Phife all his carrier and made money off phife. Thats what he was alluding to with the talk about the hollywood cacs in Mink coats.

:salute:Kanye the GOAT

paul is not just any "white jew" - dude is Slim Anus's manager so he holds much pull in the music game

I wish ICP would be compared to Led Zeplin...get these haters off our juggalo backs

By the way...

When Kanye is talking about 'Cons' was talking to him about honor at the end, he is talking about the rapper Conscenquence who is Q-Tip's cousin. Kanye/Cons are very cool with and have numerous songs together.

Consequence is on the song Spaceship off of Kanyes first album Dropout, and he's also on Late Registration (Kanyes 2nd album)... I forget what song. So he really does know Phife and Tip and them personally... he wasn't just talking to be talking.

Mention the Grammy's, then shift to Michael without bringing up Sean Price's omission.

Be 39 and have your first rap album be from 1991.

Look up at Krs and have 'MC's act like they don't Know' be the first song that plays in your milk dud head.

Be a fakkit, brehs.
