Lol @ 3000 could do it, y'all really overestimate his reach. Dude got cac fans and a few grannies with "hey ya" but dude does not have the catalog nor appeal to warrant 150 nights worth of shows.

And cee-lo played Vegas back in 2012 for 28 nights, that's pretty much as close as a relevant "rapper" :mjlol: there will be in Vegas...plus the show got mediocre reviews, guess his new white fans weren't a fan of his Goodie Mob set :sas2:

Dude wasn't offered a residency tho. It was three weeks. I feel like if it were a better venue it might have popped. Planet Hollywood, Paris, ny ny, TI, mirage...they're all wack compared to the bellagio, Mandalay, Wynn, Cosmo and aria, etc

Theres a few reasons for that..

Wynn/Encore, The Venetian/Palazzo and Cosmopolitan (my favorite hotel) are all independent hotels/companies

Paris, Planet Hollywood, Bally's, The Linq, Flamingo, Harrah's, Rio, The Quad and The Cromwell are all owned by Caesars Palace

New York New york, Bellagio, Mandalay Bay/Delano, Aria, Vdara, Monte Carlo, Mirage, Luxor and Excalibur are all owned by MGM

i have ZERO fukking clue how the government hasnt stepped in and said how do 2 companies own 80% of S Las Vegas Blvd :yeshrug:

All the companies north of Mirage to SLS hotel are mostly independent hotels/companies/investors.. I dont think its the venue because if it was a venue issue Caesars could of just offered him another hotel to perform at. I honestly think its because its only 9 dates. If they woulda offered him 30-40 dates I think he woulda took it :yeshrug:

edit:

on a side note. MGM is killing Caesars when it comes to the quality of hotels, but Caesars might get the upper hand since they are remodeling most of those hotels right now. MGM already showed their hand with those (even though I think they gonna make some changes to NY NY soon).

you underestimate 3000 (outkast) reach...kast could do a show...they have the hits, broad appeal, and a lot of shyt they do in concert can transition to doing a show....

also, cee-lo did better than you saying...he just had shytty time slot as far as vegas shows go....

The reviews are what I'm going on, aside from the time, people complained about the show - the number of covers, sleazy girls, lip syncing, the set (lack thereof), etc.

And let's be real, outkast has a huge fanbase among fans of hip hop, not fans in general. The old monied folk or families/couples from the Midwest aren't coming to see dre perform hey ya and not know anything else....ok they might know bombs over Baghdad...dre is wildly successful with people who are now 25-40, and even then most of them probably only really know him from the love below. The over 40 crowd who packs these shows are not deep enough for a full residency featuring dre.

reviews from whom?....his show did damn well, every night....

I am being real, you really are underestimating outkast's appeal....they have a broad fanbase, from young to old, black to white, etc...and it's not just from 'hey ya'....miss Jackson was huge and actually the song that crossed them over like that...just check out one of their concerts and you will see this....seriously, it's a reason why they getting paid a shytload of money to headline festivals that aren't hip hop centric/focused....

also, that has been the shift in vegas economics....they are going for that young crowd money, it's not all about gambling nor the older crowd anymore...

reviews on the tickets sites, yelp, etc. A show can sell out and "do well" with people leaving disappointed. I'm pretty sure if he had those reviews and a potential 6-month contract, WOM would've put a dent on the second half of the run. But I'd dont see the show so maybe people were just overly critical :manny:

And I've been to outkast concerts and the festivals they've played at, that mashup shyt ain't nothing new, a bunch of hipsters who think they're on because they know some iconic rap groups mushed in with alt or EDM...ok. No 45 year old white women are coming to see dre, retirees who frequent Vegas ain't seeing him (my parents and their friends -60+ - try to stay hip, i guarantee they know ms Jackson and hey ya....on the other hand, I've seen about 6-7 of them OWN cee-lo's album), no Asian business men, etc - they will see Britney tho, she's a name like gaga or Madonna and she's a performer.

Young folks don't do shows like that in Vegas, and not the crowd who rushes to see kast at festivals. And, it's not like he made much music solo, he won't be doing anything pre stankonia, idlewild was weak sauce so that gives him the hits from stankonia and love below. Dre could easily sell out a month shows (depending on venue size and promotion), I give you that, but he's not billing no 150 dates tho.

Give me the set list you think he could do for 90-minutes dolo, a set that appeals to young and old fans as you say. Britney, is in a 4500 seat theater, so 90-minutes, 150 shows, 4500 people...what does dre have for this? At 4000 ppl per show, 150 nights that's 600k folks he needs to bring to Vegas...you think he, alone, can pull 600k folks to come see him?

we live in a world were people don't want to like nothing, and only voice the negative...if his show was that bad, it wouldn't have done so well...the reason he didn't continue the show wasn't cause of bad business, i'm just saying....

never said it was new, just that it shows they draw a wide audience....cause even if it is just hipsters, they not gonna be paying kast asking price if they don't think they can make that money back...and they not just mashed in, they headlining, big difference....cee-lo isn't on kast's level...you really are underestimating them....also, like you called Britney, gaga, Madonna performers, so are they...they use bands, dancers, do clothing changes, etc. during their concerts...all that shyt can easily be transitioned to a show...

young folks are who vegas is catering to now, so them getting people to see the show wouldn't be hard....

no, I don't think he could do it by himself, that's why I said outkast in parentheses...and yes, just like her, I think they could do 70 shows a year and put enough people in the audience for it to be successful...
