He is intentionally stating historical facts that are wrong, in reference to different elements of pop culture. He makes a reference to the events of the movie 300 rather than what actually happened. In another part of the song, he also refers to the "theater Hitler was trapped in" in a reference to the movie Inglorious Basterds. This is not what actually happened, but rather what happened in the movie. In this song, Kanye is giving facts that have been skewed by pop culture, showing how the truth can be twisted by the media.

It's deliberate ignorance, he's pretty much claiming his knowledge of two of the most important periods in European history come from popular movies made in the last decade. It's no different to the average American's knowledge of Australia = Crocodile Dundee, India = Slumdog Millionaire etc. Except it turns Eurocentrism on its head.... :wow: :lawd:
