Look, I honestly don't have a strong opinion of him either way. What I'm saying isn't specific to him, but it applies in this case.
People blow everything he does out of proportion. However, that's exactly why he should be more careful: when you're under so much scrutiny, you have to know to calm down for a little bit. Whether you're a celeb or not, it's just common sense to know that people are going to judge your missteps more harshly.
The argument that you're just being yourself doesn't excuse you from all criticism. Makes no sense at all. If you're being a douchebag, whether you're actually a nice guy, or actually a douchebag, either way: you're still a douchebag and will be regarded as such. Why do people think the whole world should applaud them for not having a filter?
Once again, I don't personally hate him or love him but if you can't understand these things, then there's no saving you. He will go from polarizing to mostly disliked if this keeps up, because the controversy will eventually wear thin. It always does. That's all I'm saying.
