SINY!!
So after downloading and listening to the 16 tracks a number of times….

-solely from a production standpoint, I love the sound. Everyone who worked on the boards did a good job. What holds it back is the need for a proper mixing/mastering, especially some of the vocals.

-some of the better tracks are too short and that needs to be addressed. Even if there are no vocals, some extended instrumentals or even beat changes would be good.

-the content. Lyrical its his worst album by far but it can be saved if he fills the gaps with more guests, and/or tightens up the mixing/mastering.

There is a lot that needs to be fixed, it’s just a matter of whether he wants to do that. Personally I think as an artist himself, he needs to take a long hiatus. The man still has a great ear and can put together projects. He needs to do that for some other artists. Mentor them, help them create an album, teach, etc.

Pumping out unfinished projects shows a deep contempt for the audience.

Thinking about this whole “album-exclusive to the stem player” mess. A botched rollout like this is reason why record companies/labels still have artists balls in a vice. No coordination, no planning, nothing but missteps and fukkery.

It pisses off listeners, and it hurts other artists who legitimately want to cut out the labels. Botched disasters like this can be discouraging for others who truly want to be independent and want to make mistakes that might irritate their fan base.

I’d like to any big name in Hip shop attempting this to succeed at being a truly independent, but labels don’t believe artist can seriously pull it off.

The bottom line is that it costs money to coordinate and plan. Artists go independent so they don't have to spend money on what they see as irrelevant garbage; things like marketing, synergy, etc.

This is how it inevitably ends: with the artist essentially shytting all over themselves before shytting in the audience's mouth.

A couple of years ago, Universal rushed Cats to theaters with incomplete CGI. Critics, the public, etc. mercilessly shat on it. Universal ended up patching it.

This is what releasing incomplete albums is like. The exact same energy.
