I had a feeling he was going to clarify his position with those talking points. Was thinking that's what he meant from the jump but like so many entertainers he's not especially articulate on political and social matters. Have to say I don't entirely disagree with him. There are quite a few Black folks out here who are enslaved mentally.
It's sad, but a lot of folks have a glass half empty outlook in life which serves as an all too convenient excuse to not even try. They're defeated mentally before even entering the race.

The first slave in this country was owned by a black man named Anthony Johnson. He wasn’t subject to any of the sh*t you just said and went to court to fight for his freedom (and lost).
Funny how inmates are slaves but nobody gives a sh*t about freeing them mostly because the majority of us (all races) feel they deserve their punishment.

Makes complete sense what he is saying, but there were tons of slave rebellions. That’s part of the reason why slavery had to end in America. It was unsustainable.
Obviously him and Candace are offering some “new form of thought” because to them, white people can’t fix racism, they don’t have the capacity and they’ve done all they can do. The best they can do is the weird hodgepodge of contradicting thought that currently exists on the left right now.
To him, attempting this other form of thought seems to be an idea that should be explored. I get it. Not all black people have the privilege to take on that form of thought because they have real struggle. But some of us were privileged enough to explore other forms of thought.
