Always thought he was overrated anyway
I don't think he'll ever be done done. But his best work may definitely be behind him.
I don't think he was overrated necessarily but he kinda backed himself into a corner IMO by always trying to go bigger and better and then once you start talking about running for president and being the most influential person to ever live, it's like..where do you go from there?
I still his mom dying fukked him up and she seemed like such a grounding force for him. If he had said he wanted to keep making great music and if that was his goal I think he could've cranked out albums forever. But when you need to push the envelope every-time, eventually you start making music that just doesn't sound that dope. It's happened to a lot of artists.
Not saying every album has to sound the same. Outkast sort of did the same thing. They pushed things from their first album all the way through Stankonia to the point where they had to just drop a double album of solo discs.
I wonder if Kanye is such a perfectionist that he'll just be indecisive with this next album? I'm curious to hear what it sounds like.
