nikkas don't get that kanye is a composer. he might not actually play the instruments but he certainly has a say in what is played. creating the actual idea of what melodies should be played deserves just as much credit... wouldn't say he's the greatest musician of all time but cmon son, yeezy is one of the best of the new(er) school

Kanye West, to begin with, is probably the best rapper in the game at the moment.

In his first three albums, The College Dropout, Late Registration and Graduation he blended soul music and hip hop to create three classic albums. In his 4th album 808s and Heartbreaks, he doesn't rap however his singing conveys so much emotion that it deserves to be mentioned anyway. His latest solo album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy is personally

my favourite as I believe it has the best production of any rap album ever and it is lyrically near perfect. It is definitely the best album of the past 10 years and is a masterpiece. With such a discography it is only common sense for Kanye to be at number one and the Goat.

How can you even say that is you haven't heard Miles or Fela Kuti's music? Miles Davis is unquestionably a musical genius, Ye is a guy with some good ideas who uses a laundry list of ghost producers/writers.

Mike Dean is a glorified session player. he doesn't make any "skeleton" beats. He just comes in and adds more cinematic on it.

Jeff Bhasker has more creative input than Mike Dean as he's often listed as a main producer.

No I.D. already said the melodies/samples/drums are either done by Kanye or other main listed producers. Then Kanye takes it to Dean to put some cinematic on that.

DIAND for example - B!nk beat. Kanye tells Dean to recreate the melody with teh guitar, keys etc. then Dean dioes it.

Mike Dean has almost 30 years in this business...and he's a glorified session player??
