Not to make excuses for him but people also don't realize you can develop mental illness. All those crazy homeless people you see? A lot them developed mental illness living on the street. Go spend a few years homeless on the street. You won't be the same.

If you gave me the amount of money and coke and porn stars Kanye has access to, I'd be crazy in 2 months tops.
This! So much this! There are famous famous experiments and actual situations of normal people being put into mental institutions or prisons, and guess what? They become crazy and/or violent too. One of the greatest illusions mankind has is that will is stronger than environment. That is exactly not true. Environment always trumps will. You have to use your will to change your environments. You put people in crazy environments and they become crazy. Being around that nut job family by itself is enough to drive most people insane.

Put a normal person in his situation and they'd crack so fast. He's clearly an exceptional human being, beyond merely being talented.

His twitter rants and the stuff he's done around this album release may all be for attention, and marketing, and publicity. But the specifics of what he's done, even if intentional, STILL indicate some problems.

I'm sure I'll be flamed to death and called a Kanye hater, despite the fact that I've always been a fan and I'm listening to Late Registration right now.

Some people need to go to mental institutions, you realize that right?

Of course. 100%! I hope I didn't say otherwise.

My bad if I wasn't clear. I was talking about people that don't.

There are numerous experiments and case studies where normal, healthy people end up in mental institutions. These people have no history of mental illness. They'll start to show signs of being mentally ill. Same with prison. Non violent criminals or even innocent people that go to prison where they are surrounded by violent offenders often end up also becoming violent.

Gotcha.

That's what you were getting at with the product of your environment angle. I was just making it clear that people with real mental issues aren't going to better by not seeking help.

To be fair, a lot of the people who are homeless become homeless because they are mentally ill. altough I don't disagree with what you're saying.

I struggle from manic depression , also known as bipolar and it's gotten worse as I've gotten older and it freaks me out knowing that later in life it could develop into schizophrenia :sadcam:

I see. daps/reps. I agree 100%. Sometimes professional treatment is the only way. And even then...

Mental illness is sad stuff. Especially with how stigmatized it is in our society.

It sounds like you probably take care of yourself and get the best care you can, so I hope you'll be fine man. I hate you have to deal with that. I know have 4 friends that are bipolar. 3 of them take care of themselves and all are mostly happy and do well. The 1 that doesn't take care of himself has been a real mess recently. I've dealt with drug addiction and heavy anxiety before, so I can't fully relate, but definitely thoughts go out to you. Sounds corny but if you ever need an ear or anything, feel free to PM me.

Yes of course. But most people only see that side of it. "Normal" people don't realize their own sanity is pretty fragile. They might not develop schizophrenia on the street but trauma and stress fukk up normal people. Not everyone, but that shyt can break you. Just like having money doesn't fukk up everyone but an all you can snort coke buffet, Xanax dispenser and 50 million dollars would destroy me before spring.

I've never heard of bi polar developing into schizophrenia. That's crazy. Bi polar is hard enough to medicate. Not to mention resisting treatment is basically a symptom in itself. Good luck man. It's a long road :mjcry:
