I wouldn’t say the issue is MMA, it’s more traditional martial arts and its lack of continuous sparring. You’re not gonna ever understand timing, range, angles, and how they apply to self defense if you never try to implement them against an actual opponent. These TMAs be having nikkas in there doing drills and shyt where they do a four punch combo against a muhfukka standing still but never try against a resisting opponent. Then they get out on the street thinking they can fight and don’t know the first thing to do when their strike doesn’t work and the other person starts punching back.

Disagree and somewhat agree with the last part

MMA had her having the balls to jab a man 3 times her size in between 3 feet of space. Traditional MA practitioners are not that stupid and usually tell you to avoid altercations altogether (definitely not to swing when you are severely outmatched unless you got to).

MMA got a lot of people feeling themselves these days. That’s just from what I noticed period. No amount of sparring was gonna save HER from that asswhippin she got because she gave up every advantage she had from the choice on the location of the fight, to the strike she decided to use, to running back and getting pimp slapped back into the camera frame (which was low key).

Idgaf how much you spar, you not going against a sumo wrestler with just BJJ and leg kicks while in a corner. She had no use for angles because she decided to fight between parking spots and he took up all the space. The entire thing wasn’t a wise decision but it was her choice. Traditional MA’s usually just don’t practice on one strike with no follow up and they do spar often. Sparring and the streets are just 2 different things and often, you need street smarts as well.

I swear to god i thought i was gonna have to shoot someone two years ago when my wife did that shyt. Some dudes were clearly waiting for a parking spot to open up but the way the person occupying the spot was backing up my wife was able to just pull in there on some "IN" shyt. I mean she came clear from the other side of the lot and stole that spot. I saw the dudes were hot so i immediately told her to get the fukk out that spot RIGHT NOW and we will park on the other side of the mall unless you feel bailing me out of jail tonight.
