Tyler Vidro was arrested and charged after fatally shooting Nathaniel Padgett in Riviera Beach, Florida. Dr. Rashad Richey discusses on Indisputable. Tell us what you think in the comments below.
Tyler Vidro, a 24-year-old man from Boynton Beach, Florida, is charged with first-degree murder and aggravated stalking for the shooting death of FedEx employee Nathaniel Padgett. The incident, which began as a road rage confrontation on Florida’s Turnpike in Port St. Lucie, escalated when Vidro followed Padgett to his workplace in Riviera Beach and shot him seven times in the parking lot on April 16, 2026.
Vidro claims self-defense, stating he felt threatened after Padgett approached his vehicle holding a concrete block. However, police reports and surveillance footage indicate that the block was held at waist level, never thrown, and Padgett had attempted to disengage and drive away before being pursued. Detectives concluded that Vidro was the initial aggressor and was present at the FedEx facility without authorization, meaning Florida’s Stand Your Ground law would not protect him.
Vidro was arrested at a gas station in West Palm Beach shortly after the shooting and is being held without bond. His next court appearance is scheduled for May 17.
