Malone has the second most points in NBA history.

His greatest teammate was a white point guard with a Dennis The Menace haircut.

He never missed the playoffs. Ever. In The Western Conference.

Mid-range J was lethal off that screen and roll.

Let's not act like this is Duncan in a landslide...

Post season success matters, Duncan is miles ahead and has been one of the best consistent players throughout his career.

Duncan because he could anchor your defense for 15 years and you would be a contender every year. Malone was a beast but he wouldn't have been able to be the centerpiece that Tim has been for the Spurs. He was the man in Utah for a lot of years but they only went to the Finals cause other teams got old or lost their best players and teams on the come up were not mature enough to beat them yet. He may have a very slight edge on Tim on the offensive end with the jumper but even that is closer to being even or in Tim's advantage then anything. Tim's J was reliable from about 15 feet on in and his post game was dominant too even if it was "boring" like some like to say.

It's crazy how Karl Malones legacy gets so disrespected.

All he needed was one chip and he wouldn't have been forgotten :mjcry:

Overall I'd take Duncan but in their primes I'd take Malone no question

The fukk?

Prime Duncan anchored a team past PRIME SHAQ AND FROBE in the playoffs with a 20 year old Parker as his PG.

The gap between their defense is like 10x larger than their gap in offense which I don't think is that big at all.

I'll listen to the Malone argument. Just like I'll listen to, say, a Ewing or a Robinson over Dream argument, but in the end Timmy>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Mailman.

It just is what it is...

Duncan is better than Malone but it's very close.

Malone is better scorer. He was the Jazz main go-to-guy in every single game. He scored 31 ppg in one season and more than 25 ppg in 12 seasons. He had a unique combination of strength, speed, and soft touch. He was also a great passer. Malone wasn't as good as Duncan defensively, but he still ranks 10th all-time in steal.

Duncan resume and championships speak for themselves. However we have to highlight the fact he's been on cruise mode droping around 20 & 11/10 in most of his career. There were some seasons where he was the 2nd and even 3rd option on his team. I'm not even counting his post-35 career. Statistically, Duncan best season ever (when he was 25 years old) was only as good as 36 year old Karl Malone.:ohhh:All I'm saying is, Duncan has always been a great player, but he didn't dominate as many games as Malone.
