Put me on to some bjork...
Post some youtube vids
Thanks in advance breh
I'll post some of her earliest works to her present so you can test out some of her styles that you prefer.
When she was younger in The Sugarcubes
They did three albums which are all good.
One song from each album posted above
Here we have Björk from Debut her first solo adult album.
I had to post her concert from the Royal Opera Theatre, one of the best I've ever seen as it has so much energy.
Also a cool mellow joint right here.
Second Album is Post. She considers the first two as her greatest hits, getting all of the pop songs out of the way before she focused more on experimentation. Even with that declaration, Post is not your average album.
Hyper-Ballad is the song I listened to that made me check her out. It was stuck in my head and I kept listening.
Her B-Side tracks also hit.
Possibly her greatest album depending on who you talk to, it is to me. Homogenic:
Never heard a stronger opening line than in this song. The work she did with Mark Bell on this album. Damn.
Now we have the mark of the new millennium with Vespertine:
I'm only posting one track from these albums because they need to be listened to in full. Her most complete albums are from post until Medulla.
Medulla is what is known as the mouth album. Most of the beats are built around beatboxing, throat singers and other mouth wailing.
Drawing Restraint is a continuation of Medulla, but it is wild. Let's skip that.
Volta, this album she calmed down but still had some hits. Reminiscent of Debut without as many pop directions.
Biophilia, Björk is back to experimentation and she plays with time signatures, more vocal expressions on her part and creation of instruments for the album. It sounds amazing live, so check those out too.
Vulnicura, she's returns with an album that fits with that Post-Medulla set with a break up album. Expressing her emotions, a rare thing for her in her career, and personal talking points on her divorce.
Return of the strings, it reminds me of Homogenic, maybe a sister to that album.
