Being a playmaker is still the most valuable skill for all players in the NBA. It completely can kill someone's gameplan and make defending you extremely difficult. For you simple-minded nikkas, I get it. You see the moves, you see the efficiency and how Leonard does it and Bron's is rougher around the edges but as Magic proved, Bron proved, and Bird proved, being a lead initiator is everything.
Kawhi underestimated how much Parker and Lowry helped who are both floor generals. Even if they aren't tremendous lead initiators, they can get you the ball in the right spots and make it easier for you. LAC clearly needs one as PG13 is another that badly needs a lead initiator or floor general. Only a few guys are both like Chris Paul. Let this be a lesson. PG's matter more than bigs in today's NBA if the big isn't a lead initiator. If he is, he is extremely impactful. If LAC had more money I would try to land Al Horford as well. His playmaking as a big would make life a lot easier for the Clippers. Even Rubio or Rondo would help. I see why they wanted Darren Collison so badly. He's an excellent floor general.
