The issue isn’t whether to resign Kawhi... he's a top 3-5 player that any team will throw max money at this year and next year. The issue is whether the rest of what they have is enough.. because, as is, it requires too much fukkery for them to win in the playoffs vs lesser teams.
These playoffs, Klaw had a league leading 30.6 PER. Essentially, he was the best overall player. PG was at a 20.0 PER, which is decent / better than his 14.7 bubble ish. But for comparison, in the bubble LeBron = 30.2 PER and Davis = 29.6 PER. That's the very definition of a 1a/1b superstar tandem.
Ultimately LAC is not a 2 superstar team like the Bron/AD Lakers, they're a 1 superstar team with 2 superstar contracts on deck.. so the great (but inconsistent) depth they've been able to piece together, the question is how much can and should they keep.

Raptors were a solid team already before he got there and they had one of the best coaches in the league. Lakers before AD got there were pretty bad all around besides LeBron and Ingram with a terrible coach

But you're gonna tell him not to mention AD with Kawhi like AD is not a top 10 player because Kawhi went to a playoff team and carried them to a chip. Lakers weren't a playoff team either WITH LEBRON until AD got there that just shows how bad the rest of the team was. Kawhi had a solid playoff team all the way through with that run. And it was an AMAZING run not knocking him or anything
They're both injury prone players so I don't see why it's such a big deal to mention them in a comparison in regards to that?
