Boston as much as they'd hate to see Lakers reload probably wants to get LeBron out of the east.. they coast to the finals.
While weakening the Lakers outside of them getting Bron and Kawhi...they'd have a difficult time surrounding them with decent role players. It'd be like OKC Thunder all over again in purple and gold.

After all this is finished they'll be some talk of tampering but nothing any team will die on because the reality is it's pretty common. There just has to be a front of parity for the sake of casual fans.
Everyone knows about George and they were fined, they've also had LeBron in their pocket for a year. Most of the discussion between Bron/LA was had Summer '17. Don't know how/when Kawhi disintegrated.
