Yea, that’s the biggest misconception. Remove KD from GSW and the ‘17 Spurs were the best team that year. ‘18 Rockets would be the best team the year after. Cavs were a bad defensive team in ‘17 and Kyrie was gone in ‘18. No guarantee Cavs would win anything.

On the flip side, without KD perhaps the Warriors have a complete mental collapse in the ‘17 season… or perhaps they do what the 2014 Spurs did after also choking a heartbreaker to LeBron.

as @SchoolboyC said it's a pointless conversation because you don't know what several teams look like if KD doesn't go to the Warriors, the OKC 3-1 choke and then the GSW 3-1 choke set off several chain reactions for that offseason
