The attention has always been on Orlando because he had motive. The reason you never heard Big Dre's name was because the white Cadillac was never caught on footage, never found, and Orlando Anderson denied being anywhere near Tupac.
So unless Orlando or someone else in the car that night told who was in the car...how were people going to hear Big Dre's name?
After Orlando died and Keefe D caught a drug case. The Feds had been to prison to see Keefe D dozens of times before to get information on Pac and/or Big's murder but he woudlnt' talk. It wasn't until they showed up with a seating chart, names of the people in the car and the details of the crime is what got Keefe D to work a deal with them and confess.
A federal informant gave them that information. And for the first time Big Dre's name entered into official record.
And I think after a hot second Keefe D told his driver to duck and let off shots into the BMW.
In my opinion Keefe D was the shooter and his story is filled with half truths.
In his version he would have taken the shot but wasn't in position because of his driver. He didn't want to reach over. So he tried to give it to Dre in the backseat and Dre said no. Then Orlando reached over and took it. Then Keefe D ducked as bullets flew.
Then in another version Big Dre did take the gun and shot Tupac. I have a feeling this version of the story came out because Keefe knew eye witnesses reported seeing a big arm shoot the gun.

When they unexpectedly pulled up Orlando realized he couldn't get a shot from that angle with Big Dre in front of him. Big Dre didn't want the gun. And Keefe D noticing that Suge spotted them, took the gun, told his driver to duck. And took the shots.

Come to think of it, Keefe D didnt even know he was being recorded and certainly did not imagine what he told Kading was ever going to go public. There really was no rep to protect for Orlando or any other far off conspiracy.
