Well all mixtapes of the rap or breakbeat variation exist because of hip hop's old school way of thought's circulation of music via tape.
Which originated from ny.
Whose impact extended to bass tapes from magic mike to dj jimi.
Which gave way to screw tapes.
Now for this Gen,...you would have to credit color changing clique.
Making a classic and the grassroots impact of that in 96.
For the boom of southern styled mixtapes.
Yet and still,..ny is the essence, period.
Why people forget that is beyond me.
