i hate to say this, but if you listen to commercial rap now, Ja rule was ahead of the curve, not saying Ja Rule singing was amazing, but he still gave people that infectious melody. He is the originator of the poorly sung hook with a good melody that many people can latch on to.

There's no doubt Ja had some joints, that song about his dad "Only begotten son" is one of my all time fav hip hop songs.

The problem is that he was showed up to be a facade, and at that time when "Real" was the trend, he vaporized.

Ja's in this hip pop singing climate would excel.

this is false. jarule had already hit his peak, sold a total of about 5-7 million albums and was nearing the end of his mainstream run by the time ashanti came out.
