Keeping your resume down to one page.

I have mine on one page, using a column format something like this

I just make sure to use "key words" in my duty descriptions. I use specific hardware/software by name and I have a professional overview section where I list generic skills such as communication or something like that. I'm happy with the format but I haven't really had an opportunity to use it to look for jobs so I'm not sure if it works or not, I just like the way it looks.

My aunt works in HR, see said they won't look past the first page if you have more than one page so if you don't fit all your important shyt on the first..you're SOL lmao.

I've condensed my whole thing to relevant info pertaining to the job I'm applying for. I have about 7-9 resumes, including cover letters for jobs I usually apply to so I dont have to worry about a 3 page resume all the time.

You are only shortening your self to potential employers if Your forcing your resume on one page. You are not a college kid looking for their first job. There's nothing wrong with a resume longer than a page.

The whole one page resume is a myth at this point

i deal with resumes all the time. 1 page is fine. just do a skills based resume instead of listing every job

for example you can say:

"8+ years experience designing turbine engines"

vs listing out every job where you did it.​

As someone that hires people and goes thru resumes that shyt better be less than one page unless you're a Ph. D level astrophysicist or some shyt.

Just take off any irrelevant experience and condense it to your last few jobs.

This muthaphucka submitted a 5 page resume using 10 point font. That shyt ended up in the shredder.

Mad going on here. Like somebody already said, Recruiters and HR reps are running your resume thru a filtering software first searching for keywords. Once they get the hits, they looking at your resume for content and not length.

If you have relevant experience and skills, they don't give a fukk how long that shyt is (n/h).

My resume fluctuates between 2 and 3 pages and recruiters always hit me up while I was on my job search. Just make sure you keep the most important and relevant skills on the first page to hook em in. If you have experience for the gig but have a degree in something unrelated, put that experience first and bury your education on page 2 somewhere.

Being able to articulate into one page is a skill that not everone posesses

This is the only place where I've heard people approve using a resume longer than one page. I have always been told that you keep it to one page unless you have a very extensive work history (this is directly from law school admissions offices, a few law firms, and every resume workshop I've been to).

If you are applying for your first job out of college, you shouldn't have the history to go over one page. If you've been in the game for 5 years and still can't fill a second page, that just means you really have done shyt with your career so far
