The fact that they're basically the only Caribbeanish restaurant open late at all. And its all the younger crowd knows, is what really gave em their status.

Why can't you fukkers understand dude does not review 'traditional' sitdown restaurants. I don't even watch homies content, but from the few clips I've seen it's clear his lane is takeout/mom&pop/fast casual type joints in predominantly black locations.

DC of course has 'good restaurants', but his lane not going to Jose Andres or Marcus Samuelsson's latest gastro to give a layup review.

As a multi generation DC Native, I can tell you he told no lies. Customer service at most places is abhorrent + aggression and the menu offerings are weird as fukk.

There's a whole lane of food here where the menu is composed of shyt like 'Henny Frenchtoast' 'Fruity Pebbles Fried chicken' 'Henny Glazed Ribs' .
Even if the menu is more traditional without the flair of henny and cereal, the preparation can leave a lot to be desired...a lot.

The only reason why dude is withholding the names of the restaurants is for his safety. The folks behind some of these spots aren't wrapped too tight upstairs and def have crashouts on tap.
