As someone said, women need that affirmation, especially our own considering how they’re constantly under attack everyday just for existing.
Yes, we get it too but we all know it’s harder for our women. I have no problem with this. I wake up feeling that I am number one. Even when my gf tells me I am, I’m already on 100%.
Our women don’t have the same luxury when this country and the western world at large was built and designed to uplift white women.

Black women have already been a part of Black history from Harriet Tubman, Sojournor Truth, Rosa Parks, Mary Bethune, Madame CJ Walker. etc, this divide and conquer tatic is so elementary yet so effective on too many of our people its sad.

Well the love letter is nice so I don't want to ruin the thread with an essay or an argument, and I do agree, but we can't pretend like black men aren't subjected to the same beauty standards but with white men.

I actually have a small playlist of lady R&B songs that celebrate black men, in general. It actually feels good to listen to sometimes; that’s coming from someone who has women in my life that give me positive affirmations and encouragement, often. That wasn’t always the case so I appreciate it more.
I definitely appreciate when black lady celebrities do it, but I don’t expect it.
