That's so strange. I can't imagine anyone in the Netherlands knowing Keith Sweat songs.

Black music has always done well in a lot of these European countries. I have a lot of friends who are always touring out there, backing some artist. They still appreciate real music out there, unlike a lot of Americans.

Just stepping in to see if I'm alone in this thought:

I truly believe that my generation (millenials) and the generations after (Z or whatever) are having a tough time gauging time & aging.

Part of me wants to believe that it has something to do with decades & eras being less definitive and groundbreaking with culture & technology and maybe everyone being on social media has made it hard to decipher one generation from another because everyone's kind of on the same page...

...but every other day, it seems like people are shocked that "it's been 20 years since ______" or this celebrity/song/movie is turning 30 today and people can hardly fathom it.

Maybe it's overexposure or everyone being too distracted to pay attention? :ld:
People arent hitting life milestones. They dont have the necessary reference points to gauge time and aging.

It happens to me too. It's hard to believe that the time between 2000 and now is the same as the time between 1975 and 2000.

People were so busy clowning folks from the 90’s that they forgot they’re going to get older too. I mean there’s to much just for men/bigen, fake teeth, ozempic, etc being used by people who are damn near 20 years younger than Keith. You’d think people would soften their stance on age by now.

My cousin went to school in Denmark because they had some program where he was able to go for free. Dude never came back. Met a PAWG and started a whole family out there. He was surprised that there were pockets of Black people out there too.

Word, a good friend of mine lived out there for a while. It's solid out there

I agree

But I don't think it's as weird as we think when we think about it.

I can't really articulate what I'm trying to say..but technology kind of changes our perception of time.

It's actually a theory that I'd like to look into more because I think we all feel this way
