There's a strong argument that Keith is the 2nd greatest R&B male artist of the 90's.

5 Songs made it to number 1 on the Billboard top R&B/hip hop songs: Make you Sweat, I'll Give All My Love to You, Keep It Comin, Twisted, Nobody.

Every Album he made in the 90's went Platinum. The I'll Give All My Love To You Album went Double Platinum. The 96 self titled album that had Nobody and Twisted on it went 4 times Platinum.

4 of the 5 albums he released in the 90's made it to number 1 on the Billboard top R&B/hip hop albums. The one he released in 1998 made it to number 2.

The LSG album went number 2 and My Body went number 1.

Mind you, none of this counts the Make it Last Forever era, since that came out in the end of 1987. That album went number 1 too.

Dude begged his ass off but was a hit making machine with gems on mad different albums.

He came up in one of the goat eras. It’s not like now where people have to push back their release so an already overrated artist can have the moment.

What awards do you think he should've won?

Keith losing to Michael Jackson, Babyface, Toni Braxton and other similar artists not that big of a stretch.

Man in the mirror vs Make it Last forever. Man in the mirror all day.

Keith should have won.

One could argue Black folks today play Keith more than Mike, I know I do.

I disagree but Keith is talented none the less.

I'll give you that. Back when this was awarded though he was definitely getting played.

I couldn't tell you the last time I played a Mike track or heard anyone playing a Mike track at a function or anywhere else.
But Keith on the other hand:leon:

I'd say Keith over my entire lifetime. I like 90's R&B a lot.

His production for Kut Klose was good too.

We all grew up on Mike, but he's for everybody and that's fine.

But Keith is special in his own right, and he's not for everybody and that's also fine.

This is the one that got me and my boys heavy into his music.

I said it multiple times. Keith is talented. His production for himself and other acts like Silk and Kut Klose are amazing. They aged well imo. His style and sound is more niche. I think if Mike wanted to pigeon hole himself to the RNB Swing and New Jack Swing sound he would dominate that musical lane easily. When he was working with Teddy Riley all he had to do was ask for Teddy to produce beats similar to "Groove Me", "Piece of My Love" and "Let's Chill" for Guy.
But Keith is special in his own right, and he's not for everybody and that's also fine.
Yeah he's very special. The RNB swing era was dope.
How deep is your love video.
There's a underrated 90s artist by the name of Raab who sampled this for one of his own songs.

Keith basslines and drums are what wins over urban audiences today along with his great hooks.
