Kyrie was right to leave Cleveland when he did Boston will not prosper and BK he signed his third contract. Kyrie underrated
you giving little mountain a boat load of excuses

as i said outside having the good fortune of playing with bron he's had less individual success than the player he's supposed to be so many levels above

Kyrie is an all time talent

Kemba is a dope player
talent ain't matching the results*

THIS IS REVISIONIST HISTORY
BECAUSE WE KNOW WHAT HAPPENED
IN THE PLAYOFFS.

DIRK AVERAGED 23 PTS IN 2011
COMING OFF A 1ST RD EXIT IN 2010.

NO ONE HAD HIM TOP 5 BEFORE
THAT FINALS RUN.

HALF OF THE COLI (SOHH)
WERE TRYING TO GIVE DWIGHT
ROSES MVP.

Dirk was 6th in MVP voting in 2011, just behind KD, so there were obviously folk who had him top-5.

To be specific, 5 voters had Dirk #2, 3 voters put Dirk #3, 11 voters put Dirk #4, and 30 voters put Dirk #5. And that was before the postseason run. During the postseason he was clearly playing at the top-5 level that everyone knew (as a recent MVP still in his prime) he was capable of.

edit: But I do agree with your main point. You don't need a top-5 player to win a title. How many great players you have isn't as important as whether you have players who can fulfill every role well.

nikka WE ARENT TALKING
ABOUT
MVP VOTES.

WE'RE TALKING ABOUT THE PPL.

NO BASKETBALL FAN
OUTSIDE OF DALLAS HAD DIRK
RANKED HIGHER THAN
ROSE, BRON, WADE, D12 AND KOBE
HEADING INTO THOSE PLAYOFFS.

HE WAS PROBABLY 40/60
WITH KD IF WE'RE KEEPING IT REAL.

HE GOT KNOCKED
OUT IN THE 1ST RD THE YR
HE WON MVP SO THAT
KINDA MAKES MY POINT
ABOUT THE PERCEPTION
SURROUNDING HIM IN 2011.

The idea that media members are aliens whose opinions are shared by no one is silly. Of course there are plenty people who agree with the media, even if we're only talking about sheep who agree with everything they hear.

Dirk got top-5 MVP votes every single year from 2002 to 2012, was top-3 from 2005-2007, won in 2007, was 7th in 2010 and 6th in 2011. So of course there were folk who had him top-5 before the 2011 postseason.

But I don't even know why is has to be "before" the postseason. Cause EVERYONE agreed that Dirk was playing like an MVP during the postseason. That ain't revisionist to say that right then, during the 2011 postseason, Dirk was a top-5 player.

Not that it matters though. I agree with your main point that you don't need a top-5 talent to win a title. Having a well-coached team with good chemistry where all the necessary roles are filled is more important than having a top-5 talent.

Kyrie is a number #1 pick that won rookie of the year made 2 all NBA Teams an All-star in 6 seasons who won all star game MVP in 2014 with names like Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, Lebron, Wade, Bosh, Carmelo, Chris Paul, and James Harden like Kyrie deserve more respect if Kobe a literal basketball god gave him respect your blindness only proves that hate is what darkens your vision

Turns out there were even people ranking Dirk as the best player left in the playoffs BEFORE the Finals started, when Durant, Rose, LeBron, and Wade were all still in the picture:

Dirk Nowitzki: Why He's the Best Player Left in the 2011 NBA Playoffs

AS A MATTER OF FACT
DIRK WASNT EVEN RANKED HIGHER THAN MELO IN 2011.

I was thinking, "Hmmm, I wonder what they were saying when such an incredible talent like Melo along with a nice vet like Chauncey were traded for a few mediocre players halfway through that season?"

KNICKS RECEIVE
Carmelo Anthony. The four-time All-Star is the marquee name in this trade, and the new marquee name in New York. Anthony's trade saga lasted 202 days, but resulted in what he wanted all along: to be in New York. There's serious debate as to whether 'Melo is even one of the best 15 players in the league. Regardless of that, and the fact that he won't help New York's serious defensive problems, he's a huge name, and a marketing coup for the Knicks.
Carmelo Anthony To Knicks Trade Involves 12 Players, Three Teams: A Full Breakdown

In one long-discussed move Tuesday, the Knicks traded a smorgasbord of players, money and draft picks for Carmelo Anthony, moved from an average to a decent team and made Sunday's Heat-Knicks game a must-see event.

But what's next is what matters. Two top-15 players make the Knicks fun theater in the big city.
Sun Sentinel - We are currently unavailable in your region

Although he is considered one of the top 15 players in the league, Anthony has a poor postseason record, having advanced past the first round just once, in 2008, when he teamed with Billups to take the Nuggets to the Western Conference finals.
Carmelo Anthony Headed to the Knicks

Carmelo got ONE 5th-place MVP vote in 2011 and finished tied for 15th in MVP voting, the same year that Dirk got 46 top-5 votes including multiple 2nd-place and 3rd-place votes and finished 6th. You're just being silly now.

Melo, Wade, CP3 were all getting hit with 1st-round exits too. :why:

So I guess AD clearly ain't a top-5 player either then considering his postseason success the last 4 years looks even worse than Dirk's, right? :sas2:

I don't know if they should have beat Toronto. The more talented "team" won. Miami wasn't goin. Hope they (Celtics) keep growing. Something in that locker room stinks but they put it out there. My guess is Marcus Smart. He means well but he apart of the older guard. Reminds me of the Bulls trading B Poor. He was a hold over from the Thibs era. Had to clean that shyt out. Not talking rebuild with the Celtics but they just need to turn the Jaylen into the voice and leader. They still learning though.

Old becomes old, new is new. Marcus Smart:camby:

Kemba can win and listen so it works. Marcus Smart thinking he I.T. nah

Long post sorry
