You have to come in top 3 at the Olympic trials to qualify for the Olympics. She choked had a bad race.
But there should be an exemption....things like this makes me wish it was another country. Usian Bolt got injured during the Jamaican trials but Jamaica was like fukk the trials he's clearly the best
They could solve this though by having a run off with her and other women that qualified. But the chick who gets her spot taken would probably complain

This happened at a diamond league meet not the Olympic trials.
Tough break for her, if she really wanted to go she could try to get dual citizenship if she has ancestry elsewhere but I'm guessing it's too late for that
