Kendrick classics: tpab, gkmc, damn, gnx ,s80

Morale could be one but right now its just a masterpiece.

Jay classics: rd and bp. With black album being great but not classic.

Kendrick wins. And id say kendrick has at least 2 albums better than anything from jay.

I can’t name 5 Kendrick songs but I can name atleast 50 Jayz songs. I grew up in the 90s. I know Kendrick is nice, however, I just have an ear for 90s music. You really can’t compare them.
So you not even familiar enough with the other side to form a credible opinion. Of course you can't compare them :mjlol:

Perhaps but it depends on your preference. Jay was never all that creative as a rapper. He was more so a traditional emcee who balanced his skill/flow with great beat selection.

Kendrick is more alternative like an Andre 3000 who dropped solo rap albums, a lyrical Kanye, or a mainstream version of Blu.

Kendrick has more acclaim for sure but Jay also has at least 5 albums that can be deemed classic worthy such as Blueprint, RD, Black Album, AG, and 4:44.

And his lows aren't even that bad. Only MCHG is a truly bad album. KC and Blueprint 3 were more so a mixed bag.

But it's apples and oranges because Jay has 13 solo albums while Kendrick only has 6 if you count Section 80. Obviously, it's much easier to stay consistent with a 6 album run than a 13 album run.

And that's not even factoring in the Streets is Watching Soundtrack, his live Unplugged album, and the Jay Elec album he collabed on this decade which were all heat.

I'd argue Jay has higher highs as a well rounded emcee with bars, flows, features, and quotables while Kendrick has higher artistic/musical highs. Apples and oranges.

American Gangsta and 4:44 are good albums but classics they are not and tbh the life and times of Sean Carter smokes both those albums if we keeping it a 100.

The dopest part about that album is the live musicians and production not Kendrick

That shyt flopped too and I like the album probably the only one in my circle that did :mjlol:
Funny because the most analyzed part of the album is kendrick...all the music lecturers analyzing the technical aspects of the album and its composition spend more time anayzing kendrick voices, groundbreaking rythms and sm melodies.... its OK if you say you dont enjoy it. But musically, kendrick is the highlight of the album and has displayed musical skills that havent been since in decades...to the point even goat Funky artists said kendrick could literally craft a 100% Funk masterpiece

Im the only one in my group of friends enjoying reasonable Doubt tbt.

But even doe jay is my goat...to pimp a butterfly is better than jay whole catalogue. Overall kendrick has a stronger body of work.

Lol at the idea of jay z even being able to challenge a grandiose album like To Pimp.

Thats like comparing a snoop project to Prince Best album...different kind of classics. Theres very few albums that compete with tpab, regardless of the genre.
