Again people would rather put more current rappers against legends instead of against their peers. It’s why rappers are coming out of nowhere trying to tell us they’re better than some well known rapper. shyt is out of control now :snoop:

kid thread and I dont even like Jay like that

To Pimp A Butterfly was trash, even grabbing George Clinton and Isleys couldnt make that shyt any less corny and forced ... "I" is a song that ive never heard anyone play outside of the day it dropped. GNX is good but its just a LA artist doing Bay Area shyt. Section 80 I barely remember, Untitled was good I remember but I never went back... you didnt even bring it up

Black Album not being classic is laughable.... Volume 1-3 have low points which bring it down, but they have bigger songs than kendrick has ever made
this post is basically "I love all Kendrick but dont listen to Jay"
I wont post billboard charts because it would make you look stupid :francis:

No rapper has a better album than tpab. Simple as that. And you can argue theres no album better regardless of the musical genre.

*According to white people and white sites like AOTY and some white bytch that supposedly worked for billboard.

nobody actually gives a fukk it won a Pulitzer and most aren't even buying that.

jay zs great songs are overall better than kendricks greats

his highs are overall higher. Kendrick is great in THIS era

jay has reasonable doubt,blueprint,vol2, the black album and american gangster

He would destroy kendrick in a VERSUS

More Quotables

kendricks main collateral is tpab-as an artistic piece. Outside of that hes not seeing jay at all

A bunch of goofy's on this site :russ:

Perhaps but it depends on your preference. Jay was never all that creative as a rapper. He was more so a traditional emcee who balanced his skill/flow with great beat selection.

Kendrick is more alternative like an Andre 3000 who dropped solo rap albums, a lyrical Kanye, or a mainstream version of Blu.

Kendrick has more acclaim for sure but Jay also has at least 5 albums that can be deemed classic worthy such as Blueprint, RD, Black Album, AG, and 4:44.

And his lows aren't even that bad. Only MCHG is a truly bad album. KC and Blueprint 3 were more so a mixed bag.

But it's apples and oranges because Jay has 13 solo albums while Kendrick only has 6 if you count Section 80. Obviously, it's much easier to stay consistent with a 6 album run than a 13 album run.

And that's not even factoring in the Streets is Watching Soundtrack, his live Unplugged album, and the Jay Elec album he collabed on this decade which were all heat.

I'd argue Jay has higher highs as a well rounded emcee with bars, flows, features, and quotables while Kendrick has higher artistic/musical highs. Apples and oranges.

BP2,BP3,Vol.3,MCHG are all bad albums.

If we're being honest, Hov's catalog works better on shuffle. His albums for the most part are too fragmented and hit and miss.

Even the classics like The Blueprint and RD have some sus tracks. The Black Album is a fringe classic. None of them other shyts are classics and he also has some straight up terrible albums.
