I think it makes a lot of sense. Not talent wise but their direction as artists. Kendrick the introverted writer, like Nas. Drake the bigger than life mainstream figure, like Jay.

Lupe and Cole are close to Nas, Lupe even has the same career
. Classic debut, dope second album, followed by 2 mediocre albums tryna kick knowledge and the 5th album was the comeback. And the most annoying stans in the game.

How about we leave it at that instead of drawing fukking half-assed comparison's ?
Because if we're being really, real content wise J. Cole, Kendrick and even Drake's corny ass
are not similar to their forebears.
Even when they talk about the "hood" and "poverty" ,well Cole and Kendrick not so much Drake,
they talk about it from a totally different perspective.
J. Cole and Kendrick = Every men.
Jay-Z and Nas = moving packs, pimping and other sorts of street level crime.
Even stylistically (flow, writing style) the four are pretty different from each other.

I could see maybe Drake being similar to Jay's in a business acumen way but the nikka don't write his own raps so that's where the buck stops. Kendrick as the new Nas meh I think Kendrick is a better artist and more well rounded then nas is.

How is Kendrick nothing like Nas? Both are evocative lyricists known for "project window" storytelling. Both have dabbled in mainstream radio success but aren't comfortable there. Both are serious rappers who aren't really in the social spotlight much.Kendrick is nothing like Nas, at all.
