Im not part of these stan wars so I dont care about the Kendrick vs Drake

But if you're insinuating Kendrick wasnt getting burn in clubs, whips, etc. that is pretty false

bytch Dont Kill My Vibe
Poetic Justice
Swimming Pools
Money Trees

I heard a quarter of this nikka's album at the clubs back then

I heard them all in the clubs too except swimming pools. (rip to that party :scusthov:). But even those as examples, were those songs people really jammed to or were they songs people sung the first hook and first few bars then started scrolling in their phones? :ld:. Those 4 songs aint a quarter of his album.

I'm saying Kendrick doesn't necessarily make easy listening sort of tracks as often. There are more Maad City/Cartoon and Cereal type tracks that a person being compared to EM would make in his catalog than there are bytch Don't Kill My Vibe type tracks. Would you expect a song like Rigamortis from Cole, Jay, Drake, Wale or someone like Em, Lupe, etc?

What I'm actually expecting from his next album is more experimental tracks like i and King Kunta with Kendrick trying to expand his sound and musicality.

To the bolded, yes they were jammed to heavy and through the song's entirety.

Turned up ppl just dont turn off in the CLUB and start phone browsing cause the chorus goes off when the beat is still knockin hard as fukk. Well at least not out here
:yeshrug:

And to the rest of your post, I cant comment the Em comparisons since I dont listen to Em. I could see Lupe comparisons, but fact is I've NEVER heard a Lupe song in the club let alone 4 from one album

But yea I agree them released tracks for the new album sound like he taking a different angle musically

Cause GKMC dropped 3 years ago

I hardly hear any songs in the club from 2012
:manny:

I was out last night. I heard "The Motto". "Faded"

and a gang of tracks from the mid-to-late 2000s that were club hits. e.g. "Pop Lock and Drop It".

the reality is that modern hip hop is straight disposable. 99% of the stuff being made now won't last a generation. By 2020 no one's gonna give a fukk about these songs.

But which songs were knockin hard as fukk? I mean really....I don't doubt it getting spins at the time but aint nobody trying to dance to money trees. Kendrick don't make club music and he don't need to. And you gotta have a terrible DJ to play those whole songs thru..even the violin parts?..even Jay Rock verse? :dead: nikkas shoulda been skipped. that shyt isn't jiggy at all was pretty much my whole point. I was in a house party in Jan 2013 and dude was thowing songs off the album play,..it went exactly how I described. Not just for the Kendrick songs but for shyt like Big Sean Mula as well. Some songs just don't got that vibe but it doesn't make it a bad track. I'm On One could get the vibe going at any party tho even in 2015.

Kendrick being actually popular in the mainstream is whats most different about him, most people don't blow up with that sort of music. He cares about his message but people don't like being preached to (look at lupe career). He does a good job balancing the message and music. I'll agree to disagree on the club stuff tho

at the same time you can't expect the drake fans to know anything about music when drake has yet to make a great album from a pure objective standpoint. Drake would rather do something for the club even though its generic as fukk. All he cares about is the money, not the quality.

False.

Funny thing is, any trained musician, and not just a hip hop head, but anybody who is trained composer/instrumentalist can tell you that Drake is so popular because he make elite level pop music. His music is incredibly melodious and everything from his cadence to his timing is, albeit sugary, incredibly well executed.

To OP, most of Kendrick's fans are all white dude, Have you never been to a Kendrick concert?

That being said, I'm not a huge fan of Kendrick's delivery nor beat selection. I also, too, can concur with an aforementioned post that referred to Kendrick's diminutive stature, yet pompous bravado, and having difficulty accepting that incongruity. Nevertheless I like Kendrick's current message and will give him a chance even though I don't really fukk with his music like that :yeshrug:

simple. Blacks dont support new mainstream hip-hop shows unless its vets like Jay-Z.

thats cuz the majority of new mainstream hip-hop is geared towards white folks............both kendrick & drake included.
