You're over analysing breh.. I doubt Kendrick put that much thought into the verse when he wrote it. It was some semi-playful competitive shyt that none of the rappers he mentioned responded to because they're in a position where they don't have to stoop to blowing something petty out of proportion to gain some buzz.
The rappers who DID respond only did so because they're struggling and were looking to benefit from it. Take a look at the names of the rappers on the list who responded.. do you notice a pattern there? Not exactly a list of names that you're gonna see show up on the Forbes list anytime soon.

Nah that's the thing: he already addressed everyone in the verse. If you weren't named he isn't concerned about you. That's the beauty of that diss, it defends itself. And the fact that Kendrick big upped a lot of guys like Joel, Joey, Los etc who did make responses is a power move too. He's like "oh I see yall now. Now, do better and maybe I'll name you next time b."

the names he mentioned were those that hes friendly with. also 90% of those guys are f*ckboys.
just about all of the responses came from new York. and rightfully so. he basically dissed new York, then got his chit pushed in, now hes curled up in a fetal position.

Even when the rappers come out and shed logical sense on the verse all you nikkas can do is say "They copping pleas" or "they pussies, they ain't bout that raw hip hop life"... This isn't our modern ether, this shyt will die and not be remembered in the catalog of hip hop's greatest moments

Papoose aint the kind though. He holds no weight. he's insignificant, which makes his pouting and bytching worse. I can see if Nas or Jay Z got at Kendrick but Jay Z cosigned it and OTHER NEW YORK ARTISTS either didn't say shyt or agreed with the fact that new york is like barksdale when the towers came down.
